These are the menus that I used this year with my punch card system. The kids really loved the system and did a great job holding on to their cards without anyone taking them. They owned up to losing cards as well and overall did a fabulous job with the system. Many of them even personalized them with decorations. Didn't bother me one bit!
Hi Roseanne, I really like the punch card idea to be used for positive reinforcement. We have been using paw prints for the past 3 years in the same manner and it works out fairly well. I also like the idea of using Vistaprint to creat the smaller cards for punching. Do you use a special punch?

Donna- positive reinforcement was definitely the most effective method of classroom management I've used. Using vista or any other printing company to make the cards is time and cost effective. On my punch cards I used a star hole punch to record progress. A colleague used a palm tree. We didn't want to use a regular hole punch- that's no fun! Also, we didn't want any of our friends to get crafty and add a few extra holes. :)
ReplyDeleteI use similar ideas for my reward basket...sure has saved on the $$ I use to spend on candy. I've added you to my blog roll...always glad to see upper elementary teachers with blogs.

We aren't allowed to give out candy anymore, so we had to think of things that would be cost effective and of interest to ten and eleven year olds! :)
